Mr. Ramon Villavicencio had more than thirty-five years experience in the oil industry when he organized (TWA) Flying V in 1994. The petroleum market has been dominated by multinational giants since the early 20th century. With the impending Downstream Oil Industry Deregulation Act of 1998, his company’s mission was to get into the oligopolistic market and give an opportunity for Filipinos to enjoy a more competitive market, not only in terms of pricing but in terms of service. To date, Flying V has been a leading independent oil company with the most number of retail stations in the country. Flying V also continues to spearhead the development of alternative and renewable energy to minimize the dependence on fossil fuels and support environmental preservation.
